Ambicork: How can cork be your feet’s best friend?

The international cabin crews fly around the world in uniform. One of the biggest challenges for the suppliers of cabin crew footwear is to provide shoes that are able to adapt to and control foot temperature. Skypro was extremely thorough and worked hard in order to find the perfect solution to this problem.

Our R&D team developed the Ambicork technology. It is the only technology to date that can ensure the user’s protection in both cold (snow or ice) and hot environments (hot airplane tracks). Ambicork can also provide additional foot comfort through improved thermal insulation.

This technology introduced cork into an inner layer applied onto the insole of the shoes. As Cork is a natural and sustainable material, harvested from cork oak trees, it ensures that our aviation footwear is light, thermally insulated, has good humidity control and good resistance to mold and mildew.

Cork has a natural air-filled honeycomb structure which enables a simple layer of cork to give the feet a more controlled, milder temperature, even when standing for a long period of time on all types of ground surfaces.

Ambicork offers a perfectly anatomical footbed, in an orthopedically correct position. This reduces instances of plantar fasciitis and other forms of foot pain, maintaining proper arch support and foot alignment. Cork is soft enough to be elastic and to mold to the user’s feet reducing joint stress. The performance of Skypro’s insole is combined with outer materials selected to maintain the thermal and ground impact insulation in all of the different SKYPRO airline shoe models.

The high level of odor resistance is also a plus. As this material holds far less moisture buildup, the shoe is left with an environment that is poor in bacteria. This ensures that SKYPRO’s aviation shoes are more resistant to odor and to humidity.

So, NOW all Pilots and Flight Attendants can relax and fly to Moscow in the Morning and to the Southern Hemisphere in the afternoon and be comfortable with their foot temperature, all the time, in all weather and in all temperatures.

Want to be comfortable everyday, everywhere and at any temperature or latitude? Choose your favorite model now!
