In September 2021, Skypro’s product development team was present at two major European textile industry events: Lineapelle, in Milan, and Première Vision, in Paris.
International textile fairs have long been the launchpad for innovation, allowing designers to discover and purchase new materials.
Skypro’s primary objective at these events is to find new market opportunities in the textile industry and enrich our knowledge of news, trends and innovations. Likewise, it is an opportunity for Skypro’s team to get to know new markets and suppliers.
Fabric leather innovation at Lineapelle
Lineapelle took place in Fieramilano Rho, from September 22th to 24th, 2021. The event attracted growing interest from exhibitors and put a series of projects into practice to make the fair experience more current and engaging.
Lineapelle is essential for developing and seeking materials for fashion, design, and automotive manufacturing. It is possible to explore original materials, try them and touch them. This year’s edition was dedicated to “Rediscover the Wonder” and had 600 exhibitors from 18 countries, according to the organizers’ website. The number is an important sign of recovery in the sector after the COVID-19 pandemic. As an event strategy, the team had digital resources complementary to Lineapelle’s physical space. In cyberspace, it was possible to provide even more participants.
Besides the exhibition, Lineapelle also launched a stylistic challenge. These winter 2022-2023 trends are part of a true programmatic manifesto summarized in the slogan “Imagination & Re-Wonder.” It’s time to rediscover the charm, driven by imagination and innovation. The new challenge is to develop colors and materials capable of expressing innovation in a futuristic way, starting with leather and its endless possibilities for development, combination, and experimentation.
Sustainable Fabrics at Première Vision
Skypro also visited Première Vision Paris. After two entirely digital editions, the event returned to a face-to-face format from September 21th to 23th, 2021. The objective of this edition was not to disregard the digital format, but to unite online visits and physical presence.
Skypro’s participation in Première Vision had “Sustainability” as its leading aim. We seek to gather information about recyclable materials and understand the sustainable market better. It is a Skypro goal to be entirely recyclable until 2027.
During the event, we could see that eco-responsibility in leather was not forgotten and took its place within the Intelligent Creation Area. The Smart Materials section offered new concepts for responsible fabrics, leather, yarns, and accessories. Gildas Minvielle, director of the Economic Observatory of the French Institute of Fashion, spoke about the fashion ecosystem for 2022.
Ecological responsibility is now a requirement and not merely optional. Textiles adhere to this unstoppable global trend and adopt a 360° approach that considers the entire production chain. It is no longer focusing on a few isolated issues, but considering product development from the beginning of the production chain.
Skypro is observing the future
Skypro’s participation in the events Lineapelle, in Milan, and Première Vision, in Paris, was a success. Our team felt it was extremely rewarding to return to events in person. We came back with the certainty that we learned a lot.
Updates and research are always necessary to make a quality product. We are looking forward to upcoming events!
Skypro, feel the ultimate care.
