There is a set of equivocate concepts and ideas when the people think about comfort. Today I’m going to share what makes a shoe really comfortable, especially when we talk about heavy-duty shoes .
The footwear industry is increasingly predatory margins, inventing new materials that replace the shoe’s leather for low cost products. Today the biggest footwear brands replace the leather linings of the shoes by very dubious materials; however, the design maintains a very interesting appearance.
The high impact comfort is not the one that we get when we go to a store and feel that immediately comfort wearing the shoes. The challenge is to have an intensive use shoes that maintains the properties over time.
Here we have a different approach and the challenges are very interesting. The vast majority of foams lose full damping after three months. Almost all fabrics that wrap shoes absorb water (we sweat 1/4 litre per day in the feet), which is conducive to the appearance of fungi and bacteria in large numbers and as a consequence bad odours. Besides that, those materials, which are apparently comfortable, will probably create a real discomfort due the fact that these kinds of material increase the temperature of the feet.
Another critical factor is regarding the shape of the shoes. A wide foot will never fit comfortable in regular fitting shoes, mainly because the feet have several dimensions and we need other information beyond the length when we talk about daily wearing shoes. A minimum of two widths is obliged in uniform shoes.
The challenge is huge when we have to wear airlines around the world, with crews from different latitudes. It’s necessary a deep study of the plantar and shoe last design, and the right raw materials. At SKYPRO we can offer the best world class shoes for airline professionals, frequent flyers or who need really demanded shoes.
